Triangles are the new squares
The Homespun shawl is a triangular piece that measures approximately 5-1/2 feet across the top, and 4 feet on each shorter side (not including fringe). Size will vary due to the particular yarn used, and how tightly I happen to weave that day. It is usually made in Lion Brand Homespun, a washable boucle yarn with a soft silky feel, but this same style could also be made in other fibers such as wool or silk — feel free to contact me for further information.
The one in the photographs above is no longer available, but other finished ones are described in this category.
Don’t need a shawl? Think outside the rectangular box and use these large triangles as furniture throws, or have two sewn together as a bed coverlet!
Check out the current colors of Lion Brand Homespun. Please note that the ones marked as “discontinued” on the Lion Brand site may still be available in limited quantity in stores and clearance centers — let me know if you are interested in one of them.
Price guidelines for custom work:
With fringe — $75
Without fringe — $60
(Additional charges for sewing together multiple pieces, or for yarn that needs to be special-ordered over the internet — if you inquire about a custom piece, I will send you a full price quote including shipping, with no obligation.)
